6f589526df sysctl: ia64 Use the compat_sys_sysctl
Now that we have a generic 32bit compatibility implementation
there is no need for ia64 to implement it's own.

da3f6f9b3e sysctl: Introduce a generic compat sysctl sysctl
This uses compat_alloc_userspace to remove the various
hacks to allow do_sysctl to write to throuh oldlenp.

The rest of our mature compat syscall helper facitilies
are used as well to ensure we have a nice clean maintainable
compat syscall that can be used on all architectures.

The motiviation for a generic compat sysctl (besides the
obvious hack removal) is to reduce the number of compat
sysctl defintions out there so I can refactor the
binary sysctl implementation.

ppc already used the name compat_sys_sysctl so I remove the
ppcs version here.

2830b68361 sysctl: Refactor the binary sysctl handling to remove duplicate code
Read in the binary sysctl path once, instead of reread it
from user space each time the code needs to access a path
element.

The deprecated sysctl warning is moved to do_sysctl so
that the compat_sysctl entries syscalls will also warn.

The return of -ENOSYS when !CONFIG_SYSCTL_SYSCALL is moved
to binary_sysctl. Always leaving a do_sysctl available
that handles !CONFIG_SYSCTL_SYSCALL and printing the
deprecated sysctl warning allows for a single defitition
of the sysctl syscall.

ba230c3f6d ext4: Fix return value of ext4_split_unwritten_extents() to fix direct I/O
To prepare for a direct I/O write, we need to split the unwritten
extents before submitting the I/O. When no extents needed to be
split, ext4_split_unwritten_extents() was incorrectly returning 0
instead of the size of uninitialized extents. This bug caused the
wrong return value sent back to VFS code when it gets called from
async IO path, leading to an unnecessary fall back to buffered IO.

This bug also hid the fact that the check to see whether or not a
split would be necessary was incorrect; we can only skip splitting the
extent if the write completely covers the uninitialized extent.

f9dd09c7f7 netfilter: nf_nat: fix NAT issue in 2.6.30.4+
Vitezslav Samel discovered that since 2.6.30.4+ active FTP can not work
over NAT. The "cause" of the problem was a fix of unacknowledged data
detection with NAT (commit a3a9f79e36).
However, actually, that fix uncovered a long standing bug in TCP conntrack:
when NAT was enabled, we simply updated the max of the right edge of
the segments we have seen (td_end), by the offset NAT produced with
changing IP/port in the data. However, we did not update the other parameter
(td_maxend) which is affected by the NAT offset. Thus that could drift
away from the correct value and thus resulted breaking active FTP.

The patch below fixes the issue by *not* updating the conntrack parameters
from NAT, but instead taking into account the NAT offsets in conntrack in a
consistent way. (Updating from NAT would be more harder and expensive because
it'd need to re-calculate parameters we already calculated in conntrack.)

d81c45e1c9 ACPI: Notify the _PPC evaluation status to the platform
According to the ACPI spec(section 8.4.4.3) OSPM should convey the _PPC
evaluations status to the platform if there exists the _OST object.
The _OST contains two arguments:
The first is the PERFORMANCE notificatin event.
The second is the status of _PPC object.
OSPM will convey the _PPC evaluation status to the platform.
Of course when the module parameter of "ignore_ppc" is added, OSPM won't
evaluate the _PPC object. But it will call the _OST object.

At the same time the _OST object will be evaluated only when the PERFORMANCE
notification event is received.
