Some controllers are exposing high-level interfaces to access various kind of SPI memories. Unfortunately they do not fit in the current spi_controller model and usually have drivers placed in drivers/mtd/spi-nor which are only supporting SPI NORs and not SPI memories in general. This is an attempt at defining a SPI memory interface which works for all kinds of SPI memories (NORs, NANDs, SRAMs). Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
